Elliott is almost 6 months old already! I say it all the time, and I'll say it again: it's hard to believe how fast the time goes. He started rolling in earnest yesterday - this means some mobility for him, which is good because he's been getting so bored lately. He 'talks' a lot - his sisters must be teaching him a trick or two!As for Payton, she's in the process of getting her 2 year molars, just in time for her third birthday! Speaking of birthdays, I've been debating what kind of shindig we should put together for it. A big (and logical) part of me says just invite 2 or 3 kids and do something small. I was thinking backyard party or something similar. The problem comes when I have to figure out which kids to invite. Most kids have siblings, and at this age you can't really include one without the other. Then there's the groups of friends - if you invite one kid from the group you kind of have to invite the whole group so nobody is left out. That makes the numbers add up fairly quickly. I'm okay with that but our house isn't really big enough to hold that many people considering that it's also an age where the parents come to the party as well (I don't really want to have to deal with a whole bunch of 3 year olds by myself anyway). I have to make some calls next week to different places that host parties and see what the costs are like before I really make any decisions.
Ryan is taking two weeks vacation starting tomorrow. We're not really going anywhere, just going to hang around and complete a few projects that have been on the go for a while. We are going to go up to my Aunt's place for one of the weekend, which will be nice as she lives on a lake in Northern Alberta - a little bit of sun and sand will be fantastic and welcome!
Anyway, here's a couple shots of the kids - I wasn't kidding when I said how fast time flies...they're growing like weeds!
