I've loaded some new photos of the clan to the dropshots site for anyone who cares to check them out :)
We had a fantastic road trip to my Aunt's house last weekend. She lives at Calling Lake - North of Edmonton, north of Athabasca...pretty far north. We had great weather the whole weekend and were able to partake in much relaxing on the beach, swimming, boating and socializing. I will post pics as soon as I get them off the camera.
This week we've been helping my parents build 'The Wall' in their front yard. There has always been a retaining wall in the front of their house, however it was made with creosote soaked railroad ties and has been deteriorating for the last ten years. So, they decided to replace it with a stone wall. It will look beautiful when it's done, but man, it's been some hard work and heavy lifting to get it there! Hopefully it will be done in the next week or so - and hopefully my dad doesn't have a heart attack before it gets done!
In other news, I've taken up knitting. A friend of mine started in January and is really enjoying it, so I thought I'd give it a go. What do you know, I really like it! I got my mom to show me the basics and have been following many tips from the book Stitch & Bitch. So far I have completed a kids hat, a cushion cover and am about 75% through a sweater for my sister (Christmas present). Suprisingly enough, the projects are turning out really nicely and actually look good! I think I've found my craft! My aunt gave me a massive bag of baby wool this weekend, so the next item on the list is to knit hats to donate to the maternity wards at the local hospitals.
