A little P-Funk?

Ahhhh, here I am again. Yes, it's been almost a year - wow, I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. Too fast indeed.

Someone asked me the other day if my kids were musical. Being a musician, I get this fairly often of course. I'd like to think they are. I was thinking about it and have been thinking that Elliott seems a bit more musically inclined than Payton. He's always grooving to the tunes, dancing and clapping, and is totally interested whenever anyone is playing an instrument. Payton loves singing, but doesn't seem nearly as interested - until today. I'm listening to some music while hanging out with the kids when the Glee version of 'Tear the Roof' comes on the stereo. Payton looks at me a says "Mommy, you play this song in your band". Well I nearly fell over! I do indeed play this song in my band - it also sounds completely different than the Glee version. She saw me play on Saturday and we played our version, I didn't really think she was paying too much attention. Huh. I guess they take in far more than I realize.
